Help Desk Consultant

Location: Fairfax, VA Department: Help Desk Type: Full Time Experience: Entry Level

We have an immediate need for a Help Desk Consultant to work out of our Fairfax, VA office.
(Available shifts are 8am to 5pm & 10am to 7pm)

Candidates should have experience in a remote support capacity, be customer service focused and be striving for personal growth and success within the IT industry. You will be supporting clients at various Associations, Financial Institutions and Professional Services Firms in predominantly the DC Metro area. This role serves as the central point of contact for support for all client IT support needs.

Primary Job Responsibilities include:
• Documenting and resolving troubles reported via phone, email and/or self-help tickets from clients.
• Monitoring, responding to and coordinating action for client site alerts sent via monitoring tools.
• Creating, managing and troubleshooting accounts in Active Directory, Exchange & Office 365.
• Assessing problem escalations from support or on site staff and working to resolve them efficiently.
• Directly contributing to the overall success of the team through idea sharing and collaboration.
• Ability to multitask multiple issues during peak times
• Adaptable to working with 3rd party applications that may be client specific


 General Requirements Candidates Must Have:
• Directly related experience supporting help desk operations via a ticketing system.
• Excellent customer service practices & ability to interface at all levels of the user spectrum.
• Strong verbal & written communication skills with ability to lift up to 50lbs as needed.
• A "can do" attitude and "follow through" approach to providing solutions to clients.
• Ability to work individually & follow set company processes/procedures.
• Favorable results on a Standard Criminal Background Check for employment.
 

Technical Requirements Sought:
• Dell and HP Workstation/Server Hardware support experience.
• Windows 7 and above OS support experience.
• Administration of Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2010 & 2012 with Active Directory.
• Administration of Microsoft  2007 / 2010 / 2013 / 2016 Exchange and other similar products.
• Experience troubleshooting Microsoft Office & Office 365 problems.
       ie... OneDrive and SharePoint utilization and troubleshooting 
• Remote support applications. (Kaseya, TeamViewer, RDC, etc...)
• Working Knowledge of DHCP, DNS & FTP.
• Basic Domain Administration Practices.
• Understanding of Patch Management Practices.
• Technical Helpdesk Industry Best Practices.
• Monitoring software experience.
• Telecommunications / VoIP.
       Familiar with Apple OSX
       Understand DNS (NS, A, MX, SPF, CNAME Records)

Education/Certifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
           and/or
• Related Certifications & Work Experience

Industry Certifications are a plus:  Network +, Security +, MCSA, CCNA, etc…
