American Technology Services, Inc. is seeking a junior to mid-level full-time Sales Associate as we expand our business.  This position is a “hunter” position to seek and close business in managed IT services, cybersecurity, IT management, and application development services.  We emphasize a vertical market focus for associations, nonprofits, financial institutions, and professional services firms, but experience in any industry is relevant.   Successful candidate needs to have strong verbal and written communication skills, a strong customer service attitude, and knowledge of IT services.


Primary Job Responsibilities include:

  • Prospect new business opportunities through existing business or cold calling
  • Aggressively pursuing leads and contact potential clients
  • Build relationships with executives and decision-makers
  • Set up and follow through on appointments within the Maryland, DC, and Northern Virginia area
  • Participate in local networking events and trade shows
  • Write proposals, prepare quotes
  • Support the other members of the sales and marketing team in winning business
  • Work closely with technical staff to translate client needs


General Requirements:

  • At least two (2) years of sales experience in IT industry
  • A demonstrated track record of selling IT services
  • Broad understanding of IT services as well as the industry
  • Excellent customer service practices
  • People orientated, able to build and maintain business relationship
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A motivated, goal driven and resourceful self-starter in developing new businesses
  • Understanding of *solution selling* concepts
  • Bachelor degree from an accredited organization preferred
  • Meet assigned sales quotas for pipeline and closed business
  • Able to pass a Criminal Background Check for employment
